VIDEO: Woman Films Her Maid Falling 7 Floors Instead Of Helping
A woman is facing multiple charges after declining to help her maid as she was clinging outside a 7th-floor window and filming her horrible fall. According to the New York Daily News, the Kuwaiti employer deliberately kept recording when the domestic worker lost her grip, and she later posted the video online.
The maid, from Ethiopia, somehow survived the fall from the Kuwait building after hitting an awning as she plummeted, according to the Independent. She claimed it was not a suicide attempt.
“The lady put me in the bathroom and was about to kill me in the bathroom without anybody finding out, she would have thrown my body out like rubbish, so instead of staying there I went to save myself and then I fell,” she said from a hospital, according to Middle East Eye. “Praise be to God, I was protected. And so, what can be done?”
The maid can be seen hanging from the window in the short video, holding on with one hand. The woman who recorded the video just kept recording, and did not try to help. She later posted the video on social media, according to the Independent.
As the maid hangs on for her life, the woman yells at her, “come back you lunatic!” The maid suffered a broken arm and injuries to her nose and ears, according to the Independent. According to a CNN report, the employer was hit with multiple charges, including publishing a video of someone without their consent.
The woman who filmed the harrowing incident said she did so because she did not want to be accused of murder, the Independent reported. The Kuwait Society for Human Rights criticized the woman’s actions as “inhumane” and asked for an investigation, according to CNN.
