Trump Calls Russia “Fake News” In Bizarre Press Conference Rant
President Donald Trump appeared angry and confused in his White House press conference on Thursday, repeatedly referring to Russia as “fake news”.
Trump praised his fired National Security Adviser Michael Flynn. “Mike Flynn is a fine person and I asked for his resignation … what he did wasn’t wrong”, said Trump before he launched another rambling attack on the media.
Flynn had admitted to have mislead Vice President Mike Pence about his illegal contacts with the Russian ambassador about U.S. sanctions before the inauguration.
Several reporters couldn’t stop themselves from laughing as Trump said that “the press is out of control … the level of dishonesty is out of control.” The president then went on to tell reporters, “you can talk all you want about Russia, which was fake news… fabricated by the Democrats to make up for their loss”.
Stunning reporters with his choice of words, Trump confirmed two more times, “it’s all fake news. Russia is fake news put out by the media.”
