The President Lied – Approval Rating Plummets As FBI Exposes 3 Falsehoods
The presidency of Donald Trump has taken another blow after the FBI director and other national security officials decried his wiretapping claims as blatant lies. According to the most recent polls, the president’s fabricated attacks against predecessor Barack Obama have brought his approval rating to a record low.
In a hearing on Monday, FBI director Comey and NSA chief Mike Rogers both confirmed that not one, but three claims the president made in recent weeks were false:
- Trump had claimed that the allegations about Russia trying to manipulate the US election were a creation by Democrats. It has now been confirmed that US intelligence has a strong reason to believe that Russia has been active on that front.
- The president’s attack on Barack Obama ordering a wiretap against him at Trump tower has been wiped out by the testimony of Director Comey. He made it clear that there was zero evidence for a wiretap and that no president could in fact order such an operation.
- Trump had also alleged that top spies from Britain had “helped” the former president in his wiretapping operation. This has been refuted, and the White House was forced to issue an unprecedented official apology to the United Kingdom.
Struck by this stunning rejection from the nation’s leading security officials, the president’s team reportedly still sticks with his story. However, the ratings indicate clearly that the American public, including a growing number of Republicans, is dissatisfied with Trump’s behavior.
According to a recent Gallup poll, the presidents approval rating has fallen to a staggering 37 percent – the lowest for any newly elected POTUS in history.
