Mother Claims Daughter Was Kicked Out of School For Wearing Leggings
MICHIGAN- A mother is outraged after her daughter was asked to leave her classroom because her teacher claimed her outfit was “distracting to boys.”
Brooke Fields took to her Facebook page to vent after finding out that her teen daughter, Maydson, had been threatened with suspension for wearing a pair of black leggings and a long-sleeve shirt.
“My daughter was told by a teacher at Marshall Public Schools that she was a distraction to the boys today,” Fields wrote in a now deleted Facebook post.
“If I wouldn’t have been home, she would have had to sit in ISS (in school suspension) all day. This is wrong.”
According to the school’s principal, Fields over exaggerated the incident and did not disclose the entire story to her Facebook followers.
“We spoke to the student privately,” principal Turner said in an email.
“Tights can be worn by students as long as they wear a top that covers their mid thigh,” he added.
Turner further stated that this wasn’t the first time Madyson’s clothing had violated the school’s dress code.
